FAQ's

Who is able to receive food? 

DeForest Area School District residents.

Do I need to live in DeForest to get food?

Yes, Mission Nutrition DeForest is availabe to residents in the DeForest Area School District.

Senior Shopping days are reserved for Senior citizens age 60 and over. Ideal for 1-2 senior household.

How do I get food at a Drive Thru distrubution?

You arrive between 4:45 and 5:50 PM.  We start distrubution at 5 PM.  You stay in your car and line up when cones and volunteers direct you to.  You either fill out a form while in your car, or you may print it at home and bring with you.  Cars remain in line and move up to a "loading" zone directly in front of our building.  Volunteers will load your trunk or truck bed with prepacked boxes and bags of food and other items.

Where are you located (Google Maps)

Located at 691 South Main Street in DeForest Wisconsin, at the south end of the DeForest Towne Center.

What do I need to bring with me?

Please bring an ID with current address stating you reside in the DeForest Area School District.. We require basic demographics and contact information on a one-time sign-up form (done from your car on a clipboard, or inside at the desk).  

Do I need to provide my income proof to receive food?

No.  We ask that you self-declare you are within the TEFAP guidelines (noted here).  You will not be denied food either way.

When are you open?

Drive Thru Pantry is on the First 4 Tuesdays of the month
Drive Thru Food Distribution 5:00 – 6:00 PM

Senior Shopping is the First & Third Friday of the month
Guests aged 60 & older, choice shop inside  10:00 AM – 12:00 (Noon)

Are you open during poor weather?

When and where can I drop off non-perishable food donations?

Anytime in the securable food donation lockers located at the front door.

What if I have a large or perishable donation to make?

Do you offer delivery at this time?

No. If you are interested in leading, coordinating, and executing a delivery program, please get in touch with us.

Can someone else pick up food for me?

If you are registered and have a number, have the driver bring the card with them.  If the person picking would like food as well, they will have to sign up for their family.

I'm a Senior and do not drive, how can I arrange a ride?
